The tab order is fixed and never reorders itself. Players, Session, NPCs, Campaign, Reference: five destinations under five fingers, the same next week as this week.

Tab switches never steal typing

⌘15 work while you’re mid-note. The draft stays in the field, is still there when you come back, and nothing is submitted on a tab change. The draft also survives a reload, so a crash during a fight costs you nothing you’d typed.

⌘E is the same: it’s a view change, never a data change, and it works from anywhere including a text field.

Single letters are inert while typing

N, C, / and 19 do nothing whenever a cursor is visible in a text field. Typing the name “Nine Fingers” into an NPC form will never open a capture overlay, select the ninth card or focus search. This is the rule DMs get burned by in other tools, so it’s stated plainly here: if you can see a caret, the letter keys are just letters.

Mac and Windows

and Ctrl are interchangeable throughout; the docs write ⌘ for brevity. Browsers reserve some modifier-plus-number combinations for their own tab switching, and a page can’t always override that. If a number combination switches browser tabs instead of app tabs, that’s the browser — the tab strip is still one click, and every other binding is unaffected.
